The FRITZ!App Wi-Fi serves as a practical tool for monitoring your wireless network at any given time. It facilitates straightforward connection from your Android smartphone or tablet to the wireless LAN of your FRITZ!Box or any compatible Wi-Fi router. The application provides valuable insights into your current wireless connection, including detailed information about network parameters. Additionally, a graphical diagram within the app enhances transparency by illustrating channel assignments and device distribution within your wireless LAN environment.

Since August 2018, Android's operating guidelines mandate that apps displaying Wi-Fi environment data must have "location" permissions enabled. AVM has no control over these Android policy changes.

• Device ID: Utilized to securely store network passwords on individual devices.
• Call information: Part of a predefined group set by Google, not used by this app.
• Microphone: Included in Google’s predefined groups; not utilized by this app.
• Access to the camera: Necessary for reading QR codes to facilitate quick connection setup.
• Vibration: Provides haptic feedback to confirm QR code scans.
• Camera flash: May be needed to illuminate QR codes during scanning.
• Wake lock: Prevents the screen from timing out during ongoing operations.
• Change or delete contents of USB storage/SD card: Enables local caching of sharing information before transmission.
• Test access to protected memory: Checks for write permissions on external storage devices used for sharing functionalities.
• Change network connectivity: Allows establishing and disconnecting WLAN connections.
• Change system settings: Used to save user-defined preferences such as radio network order.
• Location: Required in Android 6.0 and above to retrieve surrounding Wi-Fi network details.
• Call up wireless LAN connections: Checks device’s Wi-Fi on/off status.
